ABOUT Us

We are the Street Machines Corp.

A non-profit organization of car enthusiasts who share a passion for vehicles and a commitment to helping animals and local needs in our communities. We organize various fundraising events throughout the year, such as car shows, auctions, raffles, and drives, where we showcase our amazing machines and raise money for local animal shelters, rescue groups, seniors, veterans and more. Our primary mission is to support the welfare of animals in our community and to promote responsible pet ownership. We welcome anyone who loves cars, animals and local charities to join us in our efforts. Whether you own classic, muscle, tuner, rat, low-rider or any other kind of vehicle, you will find a place in our friendly and diverse group.

Together, we can make a difference for the animals who need us the most.

Mark Thayer: My Story

The Street Machines Non-Profit concept was born from a period of deep depression following the loss of my best friend, Farley, depicted in the picture below. Although I still miss him beyond measure, his legacy lives on through the 208 and 509 Street Machine communities. Combining my two greatest passions—animals and vehicles—has become my life’s work.

Knowing this journey would require immense effort, I reached out to my incredible network of family & friends for help. I needed a right-hand man who shared my passions, and I found that in my good friend Bob Goss, who serves as Managing Director for the 208 Street Machines. His unwavering support and dedication have been instrumental in bringing this dream to life. We wouldn’t be where we are today without his selfless commitment. This too has become his passion, and we started it together.

My brother Jay Thayer joined us just one year later with the idea of bringing the Street Machine buzz to Eastern Washington. The 509 Street Machines was born, serving the Northern Idaho and Eastern Washington communities. As a successful business owner in Spokane, Washington for over 25 years, and with his deep roots in that area, the expansion was seamless. Jay serves as Managing Director for the 509 Street Machines and he too has experienced the profound loss of a best friend, his beloved Frankee, whom he had to say goodbye to in 2020.

Most importantly, I want to thank my incredible wife and life partner, Rebecca Thayer. She has witnessed the blood, sweat, tears, and hundreds of hours of work firsthand—no exaggeration. Without her support, this simply would not have ever happened. You will find her working the registration tables at our annual events titled “Cruising for a Cause, Saving Paws.”

There were many friends and businesses who got behind us and supported us and remain invaluable supporters today. You know who you are—thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this dream a reality for all of us. We have created a compelling, exciting, and fun community that is doing astonishing things for our animals.

RIP Farley “Mighty Maximus” Thayer
